PLA+ Lime green

Is it for me?

PLA+ (polylactic acid) It has improved printing properties compared to standard PLA:

• higher layer adhesion and impact strength - i.e. the printed object is more flexible when stressed
• higher viscosity = does not clog the nozzle
• the material better tolerates insufficient cooling of the printer in a warm environment (for example in the summer months), precisely because of the lower printing temperatures used and higher viscosity
• it is suitable for 3D pens, again due to lower temperatures
• it is suitable for high-speed printing

PLA is a common starting material for both detailed models and larger prints because it generally warps less than many engineering plastics. It is rigid but can be brittle. Heat and UV resistance are limited; the manufacturer notes a loss of mechanical strength above about 60 °C. Consider a different material for hot or outdoor environments. Gluing is usually more practical than solvent joining, and wet sanding helps limit heat from friction. A printed PLA part should not automatically be treated as suitable for repeated food contact.
