Prusament PEI 1010 Natural 500g (NFC)

This filament is not suitable for the Prusa MK, XL and MINI series printers as the temperature needed to print this material is not attainable. Please check the printing setup if your printer is capable of printing this material.

What can you expect?

Prusament PEI 1010 is our own in-house-made filament. The whole manufacturing process is closely monitored and tested and you can inspect the parameters of every spool we made at prusament.com. Prusament PEI 1010 filament is designed for applications that demand high durability and stability under thermal stress, making it ideal for use in aerospace, automotive, and industrial components.

Prusament is produced by Prusa Polymers, with manufacturing checks throughout production.

Premium-Grade Materials And Thorough Testing The whole manufacturing process is closely monitored and tested – string diameter, color consistency, and mechanical properties – to make sure that every spool is perfect.

Prusa specifies a filament diameter tolerance of ±0.05 mm. Check the product notes for blend-specific tolerances.

The spool's QR code gives access to its recorded production parameters.

About PEI

PEI 1010 (polyetherimide, branded as Ultem) is one of the most resistant 3D printing polymers, suitable for specialized and demanding industrial applications. The material has a great high-temperature and chemical resistance, and excellent mechanical properties. It is inherently flame-retardant and resistant to gamma radiation. As one of the most resistant materials, it can be used for industrial applications directly as functional parts - it can even be used as a replacement for aluminum alloys. The unique combination of material properties makes it usable for various medicinal or aerospace applications.

Due to very high printing temperatures, this material can be printed only with the Prusa Pro HT90 or a similar printer with a heated chamber (minimum 90 °C). Also, this material is extremely prone to moisture absorption and it is necessary to dry it before every print and keep it in a dry box during the printing.

Notes

This Prusament PEI 1010 Natural was made in-house at Prusa Research.

This 1.75mm filament has a manufacturing tolerance of ± 0.05 mm.
